Gerber Coburn launches the new eco-friendly E2G Blocking System consisting of the E2G blocker, new surface blocks, a deblocker, and a proprietary medium called Onyx-Bond™. Onyx-Bond is a reusable and environmentally safe blocking material without the hazards of alloy and the cleanup issues of wax. Laboratories worldwide will benefit from the use of Onyx-Bond for processing all conventional and digital (free-form) lenses. The E2G blocker allows full diameter blocking, which eliminates lens edge chatter issues by providing maximum support and stability during the generating process. Based on the proven technology of the Eclipse platform, the new E2G system protects the environment and alleviates all concerns of the fluctuating prices of alloy.
